Actually what you can do is if drop the team for 3-4 months and then it's starts from the beginning as lv1 team (with the same sources except money of course).
Talsiman did that few months ago and can confirm it (I 'm not sure about the deactivate period).

No I can't confirm it, actually...

What I did was to try to reactivate an account I'd ditched 8 months previously in the hope that I'd get a new start, but found myself managing the same team again. They were glad to see me back
