The new transfer market. How is it works ?

I don't understand the purpose of the new transfer market. Only four 5* players which most of the times are old farts (75% is ranging from 28-32 years) and sometimes a young player but doesn't look like a fast trainer based on their selling price. So far I have seen 1 nordgen of 5* at the highest transfer price in the last week or so. And of course this one was quality 131.

Then I get about eight 4* players and the rest are 3* players. I would really like a good explanation about this as I don't see the purpose behind this tactic. Transfer market has gone from top to flop. I don't even care about it anymore. The interest in the game was declining but is dropping like an anvil in the canyon right now because of this. Pity.
