I think the struggles of strikers with corners are due to two things:
1. As seen in the screenshot of the player above, crossing is a gray stat on strikers; meaning its useless to the play the position effectively. So the game has a paradox where the better a strikers crossing, the worse the performance of the striker.
2. The skills and physical ability of the player on the end of the cross matter. I think (not entirely sure) that skills like positioning, heading and strength are key to converting good crosses into goals. A good cross is great, but if the players in the box, lack the ability to convert a good cross into a goal, its just a wasted opportunity. So a good CK specialist, is more reliant upon his teammates than a good FK specialist, that can go direct for goal himself.
