Are youth players worthwhile?

On all the different manager games I play I like using and developing youth players but on Top Eleven is there any point in signing youth players?

I usually sign the free youth player and train him to help me get 2% training each day, but is there any point in spending 10+ tokens on the better youth player when he is barely good enough for my bench. Especially when I can try to sign a player 10 points higher for only 1 token. The idea of signing youth is good but I feel like I'm just wasting tokens on reserve players which isn't good because I never get any tokens back when I sell players.

I have 4 of these, my main Gk and a MC that perform with 10's that for now is a sub that I trained^^

do you push them on field immediately after signing them or do you train them to gain a red star before you do ?

do you sign all players from academy or just the ones with preferred position ?

do all of them perform well ( above 6/10) or is it just like scout some do and some not ?

Youth is waste of tokens. Never ever sign the one that costs tokens.

My ST superstar is an Academy player, he is 25 now and he played 313 matches and score 315 goals between all competitions. He is with me since day one, I powertrained
him, first I made him FK specialist and then rise him to 100%, and he always delivers. The 10T best invested ever. I have another one in my second team, who is better than the first, so....

my youth players abilities are quite a bit behind my starters so they don't get to play. I have a couple of academy players in my squad but they just make up the numbers.

I always buy the best 18 year olds available in week 1 of a new season to strengthen my weakest positions then spend the rest of the season using rests so my best 11 to give them loads of extra training. This means players I sign are always the same age as youth players but are much better.

Just got my youth players today (2 am GMT).
Signed the free youth player. ST - (28% - 77 rated).
Waste of time but will train for 2 seasons then sell before his contract expires.

Haven't signed the other academy player yet (12 tokens) AML/LM - (76% - 89 rated). I can sign up to 94 on the transfer market but next season that'll improve so I'll be signing even players next week when the new season begins.
My other players I can use at LM are 113%, 105%, 96% and 95% (all 18-21 yrs old) so I will probably just release him.

Academy player can play good, but most of them aren't fast trainers. So it depends what quality league do you play in. If your opponents are 4-6* teams then you could play with academy players, train them to 6* and they will perform good. But if your opponents have 7-9* teams then forget about academy players, you need fast trainers. For example I have one very good 2* academy player on my third team, but I can't imagine to play with those players in my main team (MNK Kaskada).

Numbers are not the most important thing, performance is. Bought him and try him against much weaker team, I'm pretty sure he won't let you down
