Yes all expensive players train fast, the value of a player tells you how fast he develops. And after they are 22 they don't train fast anymore. They cant get 1* by their own at this point.
But I still keep my players beyond 22 most of the times. If they are unbalanced you can easily train them every season a bit with some rests so that they reach the star again and keep them up to 25 years old.
Wow! I just played my league game and Pablo Alcolea just proved his worth. In this away match we were at 1-1 draw when he stepped up and scored a free kick, gave an assist, and scored 5 more free kicks. He literally turned the game around, to end a whooping 1-9.
Pablo, Pablo Pablo Pablo...hear the crowd chanting
Man, I had a god awful game. Despite being the home team with a little better avQ and statistically higher possession, I counted having 4 animated attacks the whole game. It was 1-1 until my opponent got a red card in the 55th minute and I scored from a penalty. Then I continued being under pressure even more badly. Of course he eventually made it even so it ended 2-2. On the bright side my main competitor for the title lost and I extended my League lead to two points.
Wow this game really sucks right now. Drew 1 1 in league. Me 124% v 87% non present opponent. My gk injured near the end after my final sub just to add insult to injury. I was 2nd v 3rd (yes it's a weak league). League seems to ignore quality altogether.

Solid start to the season. Although, not many potential hiccups normally, during the first couple of weeks, the difficulty level will rev up to another gear come on Thursday.

Associations is infuriating. We did win 1st, and ended the weekend at 1550 points which is very good. My games were 2-2 and 7-1 in the semi's (more on this later). 2-0 and 1-1 in the finals. Nordeus have buffed correct tactics in the game engine, so players with mutants or a big quality advantage are losing more often. I doubt many care about mutants struggling, that's probably a welcome change. However, a 125% scout buyer shouldn't be having a bunch of trouble with a 90% free player, and if this is nordeus solution to fixing the mutant problem, they risk alienating the scout buyers. That said, if a manager knows how to setup correctly tactical, they should still do very well. Associations is largely frustrating because most associations have to have a pretty good idea about tactics to reach and perform well in the platinum division, so getting the tactics correct against them is difficult. If skills/quality matter significantly less, it'll frequently be a dogfight, unless playing against Morons with Mutants.
The semi-final was irritating because I was a 24% favorite against an opponent with 14 players. I have several players that are well-trained (key stats above 200%, with a few above 300%). This was especially true for my AML, AMR and ST. But opponent was playing a 5-3w-2 normal or attack/flanks/long/off/high. I expected a defense + counters approach with that tactic, as a 24% underdog. But it didn't happen, and I found myself down 0-1 @ 60' when I finally worked out the bulk of the opposing managers settings. I just couldn't wrap my head around the idea the opponent had counter-attacks OFF in this situation. Rallied to take 2-1 lead, before leaking equalizer at 89'. Still shouldn't have struggled so much w/ incorrect tactics considering the quality advantage.
