I voiced the same argument during the King of the Hill challenge. I am aware some others did as well. But in the King of the Hill challenge, if a manager was unable or unwilling to logon every 2 hours they only impacted their own chances to win tokens and an emblem.

Applied to "Stronger Together", if a manager doesn't login frequently they are impacting the potential of the other 5 managers to win in-game rewards. Assuming this challenge isn't a one-off managers may be kicked out of associations for the simple reason of not logging onto the game every two hours to play a match.
I think the reason why the 2 hour for game time repeated itself is that both games were prepared or programmed at the same time, but were rolled out one after the other. These events take a lot of time to create, from the basic idea to approvals, to the devs, back for approval, internal testing and all those bureaucratic stuffs that happen at work. So I don't blame them yet. It make take a while for them to change it.

Aside that, every game company really don't care how much time you spend on their game. They actually enjoy and crave addicted users. But lets see what events they bring next year.
