What's the quality difference? He was online and his defense really did a good job. Only 4 fouls from 23 tackles. His possession at 40 percent isn't too shabby either. Perhaps he parked the bus and went hard defending making you miss alot of shots.
You guys call this a classic troll match if he was more than 20 percent weaker and his GK gets mom ya? So it is what it is. I would be frustrated too.
I guess another way to look at it. It is better to end the streak now than during the CL finals or Super cup. This match has no bearing right, the league is already yours?
No that has reduced my lead to 1 point, I was probably being top cocky, It is 1 point between 1st (me) and 3rd, this is my first loss at home in all competitions in 41 matches and it also ended my 36 game unbeaten streak.
So it is annoying, to be honest, if I had to lose one more time this season, I would have done it there rather than the CL Final.
I will not show up, because every time I do, we do not perform as well, we did amazing in auto this season.
Not really a troll results so to speak but just frustrating, makes you want to grit your teeth in frustration though.

My league now, 2nd and 3rd have to play each other on the final day, that loss still worries me though, we are playing a similar quality opponent in the CL Final.
Points wise, I get 67-75 points in a league season, and the maximum I can get is 64, this league has disappointed me, personally, the other teams got lucky because I am the strongest team in the league and I am worried because I play a similar quality opponent to the team I just lost to. We have to play a team in the CL Final that I beat 7 to 3 over 2 matches.
My league is scaringly close, I have never failed to get 20 wins a league season,
It will go down to the final day.

He actually might be a good tactically because he beat, one of my other title rivals 1-2 at his home, darn he likes to end unbeaten streaks he sure does.
He has shocked a few teams this season.
Not a troll 98.2% vs 85.2%
I wasn’t expecting to lose because when I am the weaker team by more than 5% I always lose, I tried to switch formation and do all sorts of things to try and win but I did not work and they got the obligatory 90th minute winner.

How to counter this formation? I was thinking of playing 4-5-1 flat or V style. Do you have any suggestions? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8bed1a7698.jpg

Considering your recent posts, I think you are seeing too many gaps in the middle. ;)
In fact, the space between those two DCs are closer to the normal space rather than being a huge gap. Another thing to consider is that players do not stay fixed about the same position; 3DC can move wide and DL-DC-DR can move narrow as required to mark attackers as long as there are enough defenders, but you are seeing the above as a huge gap to exploit? Someone can play 5 all close at the back and still the way to go against him might be the middle or vice versa. Another one could play 4 at the back but set wide apart (in this case, clearly a big gap is seen in the middle), but still the way to go might be by the flanks and even in the live match highlights you might be surprised to see them narrowly set at the back when defending.
Also, after having seen two of your odd formations you been using, it is not a surprise if odd formations (and orders) were the main contributors of most of those losses your team suffered but you blamed them as trolls. Some things may have changed recently in this game but some years back, you would have been severely penalised for those odd formations you have been using. You are still in the low levels, but soon or later you will realise that some of the things you been using were wrong or putting your team into disadvanatage. I doubt you will win much with those odd ways in more active and competitive leagues and cups, but I can be mistaken or wrong.
I am definitely watching. It’s my first CL final after all and so far I haven’t done badly when I watched and all my draws and losses were in auto mode. Against the kind of ratings my opponents had, the draws were unacceptable. The loss I can stomach as opposing manager was present and he keeps his main team on the bench. Effin good strategy if you ask me

There are basic rules that we older users got used to. An example is the minimum in any formation is to have 3 defenders, 1 MC in the middle, 1 player on each side and 1 ST. Way back if you went against this rule, you would have suffered significant penalties by the game engine. Nowadays, it seems that the penalties have been 'relaxed'.
Max, a better explaination for your case could be because of you using odd formations and orders. When you were not present, the bot manager trolled the opponent with your odd settings or the settings were changed, but when you are present you are bound to get penalised. Like I said, in more active and competitive competitions, it is expected that you will not win as much as you already did with those odd ways. Lower levels you can get away with this though still might have it hard in later stages of competitions like semi final and finals where the opponent will likely be active, but at higher levels you will be maybe more like a mid-table team.
You can beat this with a lot of formations as long as it covers the basics to defend and to attack versus this formation. Orders play significant role these days. The game has changed. Way back I used to use defensive 3-5-2 with defensive wingers (3-2W-3MC-2) and attacking 4-3-3, but last season I used 3-2W-2MC-2W-1 (wing attacks). 451 Flat has also beaten this formation way back (Nik's 451V was beaten), and 3W-2DMC-2-2W-1 also beaten this. One key in beating this in the past was evident - it is 3MCs with cover in the other areas as appropriate according to the approach used for defence and attack. If the approach was attack middle, then needed 3 attackers in front (AMC, ST or 3ST) but if the approach was defensive and counter-attacking, wingbacks and 2ST (still with the 3MC) was needed. Other possible formations are 4-3N-2W-1 and 3-6-1 wide diamond.
Even 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow Diamond has beaten this (I seen it live at least twice many years ago). But, the key in there can be seen again, it is still like 3 in the middle and 3 attackers just in front. But those were old days. Right now, I do not know what the game engine will significantly prefer to be used, but one thing for sure is that orders matter a lot. On paper, all those formations I listed above look good, but wrong orders can be costly.
3-6-1 Wide Diamond (3W-1DMC-2MC-3WAM-1) not 3-6-1 plain. I personally do not use this, but on paper it is a hard formation to defend against but also to break down. 3-6-1 Narrow Diamond is another hard one (currently used by some top teams in top associations, and also most of the members in my current association used this and some still using it).
The narrow one (atleast) might be overpowered (and misleading to the opponent) just like how certain narrow formations were overpowered way back in this game, and some users could be winning so much just because they using this formation rather than due to their management and tactical skills
I use 1-4-1-1-3
What a unique formation, does that have any name for it, this is what it looks like. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...73b27fed1e.jpg

The only thing I know about the orders are attacking goes well with offside trap and never with counter. Defence goes well with counter and never with offside trap. Also ST and MC in the game perform really badly. If I had a choice I rather not play these 2 positions. Play 4 AMs and 2 DMC instead. My Mc is always needing morale boosters as he ain’t assisting. He doesn’t do anything lol. My st does a little, like really very little.
I have used offside trap with defensive styles and it worked. Some are just guidslines shared by users. They are not a must. In fact, based on experiences, I found some advices and guides shared by others like 'bull****' because the orders they adviced did not make any sense with what was working for me in the game. Briefly, good order combinations can be any in this game (even those that are against logic). It is all about what the game engine has selected to be right orders for you to use in that specific match (I do not know how, maybe some by logic and some random).
I know about the MC and ST problem; it is not something new, but I think there are good and bad players too. For sure, there are ST that performed very well; a big example is my ST itself (lots of goals and assists, more goals than the wingers, and is currently the player of the season so far).
Will try the offside with defensive next time. I actually asked someone who plays Soccer and he told me but yeah it’s a game so what’s normally done doesn’t always apply.
Am selling my ST again. The search continues for one that can perform without fk and pk duties.
