CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - FINAL
July Fourth 1-0 gunners
July Fourth Win The Champions League!!!
July Fourth Complete Fourth Treble!!!
July Fourth 119.6 4-5-1 V then 2nd half 3N-1-4-2, gunners 4-1-3N-1-1 then 67 minutes 4-3N-1-2
This was a tense final and another close one as well, just in the last 3 seasons and a lot more was at stake when the Cup was won last night and the League was won this afternoon and the treble bid came to this 1 last CL Final. We lost last year on penalties just to add to the tension. The game started and gunners were on the front foot, and for the first 20 minutes they got the first few chances on goal, But July Fourth soon had a small window of attacks on goal when O'Sullivan broke clear and had it saved, then Miku had a chance blasted over the bar, we had to defend a corner and Ramirez cleared it away, Then towards the end of the first half, stuart picked up a yellow and free-kick specialist Kourkoutis blasted it over the bar, soon we won a free-kick of our own and Hardy then sent the ball over the wall and into the goal. You would sense July Fourth would begin to take control of the game from here... Wrong.
The first incident of the second half was a bad tackle from Stuart on a yellow card on Alvarez and the referee made no hesitation to give him his 2nd yellow card. We were down to 10 men all of a sudden but chances were still coming for both teams, mainly for gunners who switched to 4-3N-1-2 to try and get the equaliser or win the final, But Pietropaolo was given a chance through on goal to settle it and he missed it, gunners then had a few attacks in the final 20 minutes as expected da Costa had 2 chances and Ramirez won both balls and Childs and Hardy cut out Odrich in the attacking midfield, Steriu had a pass cut out by Childs and the final whistle went once Hogan won the final challenge from Hauser.
Goals: Hardy (36) MOTM: Childs.
Team Talk: We have won the TREBLE for the fourth time in the clubs history!!! The Fourth now has another meaning with our club name! The players have had a fantastic season and now deserve a well earned break and we can prepare for the new season in the next couple of days, The Cup win was unplanned and we never expected it and it is a huge bonus in winning the other 2 main competitions we normally compete for. This is one of the best seasons at July Fourth along with L14/S14.
