Special Ability - Useless or useful?

my corner kick specialist scored 40+ assists in both of the last 2 seasons, i found very useful aerial defender and defensive wall too, my free kicks are taken by my best ST(no SA) and he's scoring ratio is still pretty amazing

nice post mate, i dont know about playmakers but according to my experice i am 99% sure that they tend to increase your possesion, i love using playmakers

drible isn't useless. if there is a dribller you can't play marking style one and one. Like can't play offside trap with AM

My experience

Goalkeepers penalty stopper - Useless
I've conceded 3 penalties in 6 seasons (and almost all teams have a penalty specialist) and never played penalty shoot outs.
One-on-one stopper - Almost useless
Every time an attacker is on-on-one with the gk, he doesn't shot on goal but gives an assist to another player, who scores.


Aerial defender - Very useful
Defensive walll - Useful

Dribbler - Useless

Shadow striker - Slightly useful
I had a AML-AMC for 3 seasons, 7*, 6*, now 5*. He's good but he scores from long range from time to time. Not more then other good attackers.


Striker, One-on-one scorer - Slightly useful

My players with this ability never missed a penalty, on the contrary of other good attackers. But I don't shot many penalities in a season


Free kick specialist - Very useful
They alwayes scores a lot of goals from free kicks
Corner specialist - Very useful
My DC-DR with this ability gets a lot of assist through the seasons

the special abilities are there to give a small % increase. for example a Goalkeeper without a special abilty for example would have a 80% of a save but WITH the special ability would have say a 85% chance.....not a lot but the advantage IS there.

I think my penalty kick taker has lost all the penalties he has shot but I can't find that now can I?

i share your opinion 100% .. although shadow striker worked brilliantly for me, just give him slightly more attacking skills and he will be on fire more than if you give to any other player
