Definitive Illegal Formation Rules

You can have more than 2 wingers. Example the 3-2W-2N-2W-1 (Butterfly) formation. The possesion difference is only accounting for the spectators & because I was playing force counter-attack tactics. Still doesn't reach that 20% penalty.

You can have 2 per side. You can't have 3 on the right, or 3 on the left.

e.g. the following formation is illegal because it has 3 wingers on each side:

xx xxx xxx xxx xx
dl. xxx dc. xxx dr

You have a player on each flank as I highlighted in bold. So this formation would be legal in T11.

3N-2-2-2-1 butterfly is legal. It seems to meet all the requirements. 3W-2-2-2-1 butterfly is illegal because there are 3 players on flanks.

Its strange because i'm winning games and dominating possession with this tactic & furthermore this is used by some of the top coaches in the world including the face of this game.

it meets all the requirements that I'm aware of, but I haven't tested it. You'd still have lousy possession though because of the lack of players at center.
