Definitive Illegal Formation Rules

Just thought of this formation
3N-1-1-4-1. This doesn't seem to be illegal according to the updated post. Will it be illegal??? If unsure about it, I can try it in the league match tonight.

It is not even therein the table for counter formations so I was confused if this is legal......

If you mean narrow diamond, you should use
Offensive
Short passes
Through the middle
Oh and use normal tackling

Does anyone knows the best orders/tactics(normal/forward.. pression on half/all pitch, etc) for the following formations?


4-1-2N-1-2 (Narrow diamond);


4-1-3N-2;


4-3N-3;



Seriously they keep on getting my players sent off, playing soft!!!... two red cards in the same game... red and yellow cards for 3 games in a row... 4 defeats in a row... i already lost the cup... my players are from the level 6, but they are the most wanted ones... al with the highest quality possible(49), now at level 7, with 52 in quality.. the most expensive ones, and best payed possible.

I tried almost every possible order's with(counter,tackling,pressing) and normal too... with the same result... it really looks like they are ****ing me up.... its a silly conspiracy idea, but thats just like how it feels right now.

you dont need 3 mc, you need to have 3 in midfield, be that dmc or amc

you dont have to have ANY in middle row eg 4-2-3-1 deep, just 3 midfielders min, same as 3 defenders min

Agreed all my games played with one DMC, MC and AMC are asymmetrical so none in the centre row as were calling it.
If it was my tweak on total football would get battered and it doesn't. 16 outings this season I'd say makes that pretty conclusive.

good thread. I just beat a better team in the CL semifinal. He had only 20% possession because he had no wingers. I see this alot with opponents and friends. I asked support point blank to define all illegal formations and support wouldnt. I seem to have been penalized for having more than six in the Defender plus DM category but am not sure. overly defensive formations and irregular defensive formations seem to be a problem.

Just to confirm, playing 1xMC only is NOT an illegal formation. This morning I played a guy in the League that selected only 1xMC (3xAMs), I countered with only 1xMC & 2xDCMs. Possession was about 60-40 my way. When I was up 3-0 not long after half time (about 52nd min) I retreated my AMR & AML to MR & ML, & possession barely changed, finished 62-38. If playing 1xMC was illegal, then possession would have gone far more strongly to me during the second half.

So any 3 yellow players on the field would make up a legal formation.

Have you tried it with noone in the middle row? Meaning no M(L/C/R), maybe play with an AML, AMR and DMC, I believe that would be illegal.
