I've actually been using the 4-5-1 V style to counter the 4-4-2 classic, and its provided me with very good results so far. It's basically total madness tactics and arrows out of the V.
What arrows orders do you use with the 4-4-2 classic? I'm thinking I might give it a try against the 4-5-1 v in a friendly match in a friendly or something.

This is the answer for how to beat 4-5-1 V.
The rival team average quality is slightly better than mine. Both were watching the match, both used right players in right position. My team order was attack mixed, hard tackling, mixed passing style, rest remained default w/o counter or offside trap. 4-3-2W-1 really counters 4-5-1V with same quality.
