I'd rather see a messageboard for the league where you had to pay tokens to post on it with a 2-5 post limit per week. OFC, it would have to come with a provision of no hate speech, cursing etc. I do like a good razz after a hard fought win.

Playing a match, transferring players, FA, all are interacting. Assuming you mean chat and messaging, please move to the linked thread or any of the others on same topic
What about just a "cheer!" button on each manager , player, and match page.
So nobody can say something negative, but if you want to say good game, or great player, or congrats on winning treble, you can send that sort of positive message with a generic "cheer". Adds a small dimension to game friends and competition dynamics.
Yes, I think something like that would work as well. I actually like the idea of cheer buttons in different places.
Still, I don't see any problems in building in a PM system as long as you make it possible to block other managers.
