All Go for the new season
Go Leo look all set to start the new season, announcing the arrivals of three new signings today.
Goalkeeper Giuseppe Scognimiglio, defender Franci Ferraj & winger Ryan Owens were unveiled this evening at Lion's Way. Scognimiglio, 22 and Ferraj, 20, made their debut at the cup prior to the unveiling and impressed the Boss.
"They are not yet the finished article and they have a long way ahead of them. Both put in really good shift this evening."
Scognimiglio was rarely tested in the match against Tsv Spurfuchs, but looked commanding especially at set-pieces.
"We brought him in as an understudy to (Illyias) Fyntanis but I hope he starts giving me a headache."
Current number one, Illyias Fyntanis, has already declared his retirement at the end of the season.
The transfers of the three new playes cost Go Leo over $8 million and 11 tokens, which could be relatively considered a bargain. It was believed that interest in Ferraj was high and the Boss was obviously happy to have beaten rivals to his signature.
"The club was always on the lookout for a defender and I am pleased to have captured Franci, the boy can also play in the centre or left of defence."
"A couple of clubs were chasing him but in the end we got him. As for Pepe & Ryan, we had managed to keep it under wraps. I think their transfer surprised a lot of people."
The Boss declared that the club will not be bringing in anymore players for now.
"We've completed our piece of business for this season. I don't forsee the need to bring anymore new faces."
Today also saw the departure of Shahrol Samadi (GK), youngsters Giannis Abaris (MR) and Emran Firtina (DL).

Go Leo advance with 3-0 aggregate
A sublime Quentin Anani freekick helped Go Leo progress to the next round of the Top Eleven Cup competition at the expense of Tsv Sparfuchs. Go Leo won 2-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate.
A capacity crowd of 7000 filled the newly upgraded Lion's Way but they had to wait until the second half to see a breakthrough. The home side dominated proceedings from the start but failed to find a way past a disciplined Sparfuchs defence.
Striker Syazwan Aiman had earlier missed a glorious opportunity in the first half to break the deadlock, but he amends just six minutes after the restart. A nice piece of skill saw him breakaway from the visitors defence which ended with him blasting the ball past the hapless visiting keeper.
The home side rarely gave Sparfuchs a look at goal and French play-maker, Anani made sure of the victory 14 minutes from time as his freekick beat everyone to nestle at the back of the Sparfuchs net.
