A below par performance from the Clarets let them drop points at home to Bital FC, the team that they would have to draw or better to advance to the last 16 in second in the group, LINIH FC sealed first with an earlier win. A Scannell goal cancelled out a Ros goal for Bital and in a game where the Bital defence shined the final score remained 1-1 on the day.

With Scannell injured in training it was left to Raheem Sterling to fill his boots while he recovers, the team doctor expects him back in time for tomorrow's league fixture against Dinamo. It was 3rd(after two losses on the bounce) against the Clarets, who after two victories in a row where looking to jump into third place with a win. The away fans where not to be dissapointed as Candra with two goals, and the late call in Striker Sterling stole the show to put the clarets in control. at 2-0 they would grab a reply through Benzema but to no avail as the Clarets find themselves back into the CL places, but 5 points adrift of the leaders.

The Prodigal Manager returns
Once upon a season, there was a manager called David. He brought great success to the Fusion United Shores. But one day, the success dried up when the manager left to pursue other ventures, players left, fans became disinterested in the club that was once their bastion of football. Many moons have passed since the manager left for shores unknown.
I return to find the club a shell of it's former self, the players, once legends of the club have left, leaving only dregs and what the old guard would call "dead wood". The owner, in his infinite wisdom, pleaded for any manager to save the Clarets from their current stupor, the club sitting 14th with 7 games played, on 0 points, and 63 goals conceded.
So, cometh the hour, cometh the Dave. I have returned to management! S15 may be a write off in terms of a title challenge, but I am hoping, with some luck and shrewd rebuilding of a decimated squad(14 retiring this season), we can finish strongly and invest much needed funds to rebuild.

3 wins on the bounce for the Clarets
A daunting fixture now for the Clarets, as they faced the undefeated league leaders, who before this match where 9-0 in terms of wins and losses in the league. This was to be brought to an abrupt halt when the Clarets attacked shined and a 4-0 success sees them climb out of the bottom of the league and into 11th place(Table to come at 13 games).
This win was hailed as an impressive attacking display, but the defense played its part, clearing any corners and freekicks that came their way, allowing the attackers, and in particular Phil Compper, our German tank, to shine. Compper is now on 3 goals in 2 appearances for the club, after signing on a free transfer to help bolster the squad ranks. If he continues this fine form he may be in contention to stay on longer term.
A good start to the return to management. The team have had their win bonuses revoked for this season as the club seeks to build a new financial foothold after expending a lot of resource into rebuilding an ageing team. At the time of writing the team now has 12 retiring players, with 12 players who are on 2-3 year contracts at the club.

A Short Perspective
5 Games into my second reign of the mighty Clarets. I feel it is time to write a little summary of how we are doing so far.
The news on the pitch is very good. We have collected 13 points from a possible 15. We have only conceded three goals in the last 5 games, substantially helping our goal difference towards the positive end of the spectrum. We have moved up to 10th in the league table, and we top the league's form table. While there is much improvement to be done on the pitch over the course of this season, the signs are looking good.
As to the formation, I have not been able to get the team into my favored 4-1-2-1-2 formation as of yet. The team is operating using a 4-4-2 formation for the moment as we look to rebuild from the ground up. My philosophy is to get a formation that works for the team that I have at my disposal. Over the coming seasons, I hope to introduce some marquee signings, but for now it is about stabilizing this team.
The Clarets have a promising new recruit signing up today, young Phillip Frewen, a 2* MC, who will help fill out our squad ranks whenever possible. We also have a Micheal Folan, who is a 4* ST, who we hope to sign on a permanent basis in 4 days time, tokens allowing.
Off the pitch, the teams finances are starting to record a profit. After spending $136M on transfers to get the team afloat again, the manager was given a remit of safe buys and high profitability for the coming seasons by the board. It is felt that the board have invested a lot back into the club to get it back on it's feet and it's hoped the manager can start a revival at this once great club.
Roleplay aside: If anyone wants to have a chat, that I used to play and chat with on the game, please feel free to PM me. I have work commitments, but I would love to hear from you!

Half way in!
So, half way into a season, 6 games into my rebirth as a manager.
The half way report on the skin of it, is not good. We are in a tie for 8th place with S.Luke, with a much much worse goal difference. With 7 games played however, we where bottom with -63 GD, and 0 points. To come this far in such a short period of time has taken great investment and care with the team.
Now, the aim for the second half of the season? 13 Games left to play, I am going to aim high and try for the top 4. All the teams above me are beatable, and we have already gained 6 points on the competition! I believe 7th place and above is very achievable for the team.
We have made a new signing in M. Forlan, our new No. 9. The 18 y/o prodigy will hopefully lead the line in years to come. He will have his first taste in action tomorrow as part of our new 4-3-3 formation.
The team is slowly coming together, the average age of the 1st 11 has been reduced from 31 to 23.5. The team has a lot of experience at the back, allowing our younger guns to shine up front. We have won today 7-2, proving this system is working at the moment for the team.
