CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - SEMI-FINAL, 1ST LEG

A very important match for both teams and kudos to the Zekspor manager for giving it his best shot but once again July Fourth's iron like defence was working very well. It was a game of 2 halfs as July Fourth were the better team in the first half, Miku and Michu were causing all sorts of problems and Beckett was taking a couple of shots on goal, both goals were towards the end of the first half for us and it was Michu and O'Sullivan combining on both occasions firstly a Michu cross found O'Sullivan to header and 4 minutes later it was a Michu corner that found O'Sullivan again for a 2-0 lead for us, Zekspor started switching formations around to try and find some joy but they kept focusing their play through the middle when I decided to switch to the "aeroplane formation" which Malik came on for Pietropaolo, but whatever they threw at us it was to no avail as Childs and Hogan just cut everything out each time, O'Sullivan did have a shot for his hatrick blocked and Beckett kicked his freekick over the bar, Zekspor came close on 80 minutes to pulling one back when Knight saved a Stojanovic shot on target and Hogan cleared the corner away we head on for the useful 2-0 lead.

Goals: O'Sullivan (35,39) MOTM: Michu.

Team Talk: This is a wonderful result for us tonight but as we already know the job isn't done yet as Zekspor have some hope since we lost out in the Cup on the away goals rule after leading 2-0 from the first leg after playing the away game, however we are strong favourites to reach the final and I expect that we will be there on Friday.

To Qualify: July Fourth 1/33, Zekspor FC 14/1.

Some Respect for this Guy, he made the 4th in the league behind me, I'm supporting him in league games. He made a pretty hard challege for our team. We both changed setup for 3 times, and I'm glad I could overhelmed him. He is a strong opponend, and I wish my plans would not cross his. (hope to say or write this not wrong ;-)

So NAMO UNITED tried to fix a game so they would overwhelm my GD and take advantage of ANY type of mistake from us in the league, even a draw... Too bad this time they only managed to win the game 5-2. I would of said they would of won against that team normally and last time they fixed it, it was 10-0. So we are +9 GD ahead of NAMO UNITED in the league and still have a 2 points advantage, so this means we can afford 1 draw in the last 5 games assuming NAMO UNITED finish with a perfect record in their remaining games.

The away side were all over us first half and we could hardly muster any shots on goal so the manager made a slight tactical change at half time switching from short to mixed passing which brought us back into the match and Hervias got us a goal ten minutes into the 2nd half so we can be happy with this result as maybe we were not the better side.

Goals: Hervias (54) MOTM: Zouma

Team Talk: A really hard thought match here and not a great performance so will take the win and happy not to concede an away goal.

FC Kneipenkick update:
League round 21: BVB Dortmund 0-1 FC Kneipenkick
FC Kneipenkick played today at league primus BVB Dortmund, who trashed us 5-0 in our home leg and was so far unbeaten.
If this task would not have been tough enough (BVB has a team full of scouts enriched with some 5* close to scout level) in todays training K. Upton (6 points away from 7*) got injured. Since we save red packs oldie Guido Kunz got the chance to start again.
BVB Dortmund played as usual with a very offensive 3N-MC-AML-AMC-AMR-3ST. In the home match I tried to attack the team over the wing, but failed massively. Today FCK tried another approach and fielded an asymmetric 3N-DML-DMC-DMR-MC(r)-AMC-2ST.
Due to better fan support BVB went into the match with a +7% bonus and started the match offensively, but failed to break Kneipenkicks strengthened center. FCKs massive defense tackled the attacks well and kept dangerous up front. 3 minutes before the half-time whistle FCK played a nice counter and Guide Kunz could only be stopped by foul, close to the penalty area. FCKs top freekick specialist B. Decker (AMR/MR) was not fielded due to tactical reasons, instead DML/DL Jo Garcia took the chance and hammered the ball into the net (42.). With 1-0 for FCK both teams went into the HT break. Both teams went with the same formations into the second half, where BVB made good pressure, but failed to create real chances, FCK even had a chance plus, but was unable to score. So it remained 1-0 for FCK and BVBs lead melted to 4 points (probably enough to win the trophy, our first league matches were too horrible).

3-2 is my new default result in CL: in quarterfinales I won 3-2 at home, lost 2-3 away and won after penalties. Now in semis I lost the first leg with 2-3 away. Not too bad of a result vs a slightly better team than mine (He 48.6, me 47.7), I guess I am a small favorite now?
