I start with one formation and stick to it until it is broken, then I adjust to suit my players.

This season I played 3-4-1-2/3-1-4-2 then reverted back to my trusted 4-4-2 hexagon 3/4 of the season. I don't really change the basic structure much.

Season 1 - 4-4-2 Hexa, joined midway finished 5th
Season 2 - 4-4-2 Hexa, 4th, Cup semi
Season 3 - 4-4-2 Hexa/4-4-1-1, 3rd, Cup 1/4
Season 4 - 4-5-1 motivated AML/AMR, 2nd, Cup 1/4
Season 5 - 3-4-1-2/3-1-4-2/4-4-2 Hexa, most likely 2nd, CL 1/4
