Thanks to all returning Managers!
and a big Welcome to all the new Managers!
Hello all again for a new season - good luck to you all, and welcome any managers new to the forum...
Before we start, here's some questions for you:
What have you learned from last season?
There is such a thing as not being defensive or attacking, and still getting a result... Normal mentality rules!!
Where did you place last season?
Palace Casuals - 4th in League, Top-16 Round in Champions League and Preliminary Round in Cup.
Palace Terriers - 5th in League, Champions League Winners and Top-16 Round in Cup.
Desert Rats FC - 3rd in League, dnq for Champions League and Winners of Cup.
What's your current level?
Palace Casuals, Level 26; Palace Terriers, Level 4; Desert Rats FC, Level 3.
What's your budget for this season?
Whatever's in cash fund, Palace Casuals may get a Token injection for player purchase, the other two teams are 35T.
Who do you want to replace?
Palace Casuals definitely need a DC/DL as one of them is a 2*, and there are a few low Q 3* players that will be replaced when suitable replacements come up.
Palace Terriers requirements include a DC/DL and a couple of STs to replace the 2* players. The 3* players are fairly high Q so will star up early in the season.
Desert Rats have a veritable shopping list, depending on how soon the high Q 2* players star up. They definitely need defensive replacements as a DC/DMC, a DC and a DR, all low Q 2* players, will not cut it at this level.
What are your goals for this season?
All teams need to place well, preferably top 4 in the League, and progress as far as possible in the knockout competitions. Pressure will be on Palace Casuals as the senior team as they haven't won anything for a couple of seasons.
Good luck to everybody this Season!
Any formation or tactics advice given is based purely on experience with my teams...
Palace teams initial report for this season...
Palace Casuals, Season 27 at Level 26, initial playing squad:
Palace Terriers, Season 4 at Level 4, initial playing squad:
Desert Rats FC, Season 3 at Level 3, initial playing squad:
Down to match action, and first up was Palace Casuals, and they kept up their dire showings in the Preliminary Round of the Cup with a 1-2 away defeat to Level 25 opponents. Left-winger Omar Hansen saved the Casuals' blushes with a 90th minute consolation goal to give them something to fight for in the 2nd Leg.
Palace Terriers have booked their place in the next round already, it will be difficult to see how the possibly abandoned Level 5 team that they faced in their home 1st Leg can come back from a 10-0 deficit:
Desert Rats FC were away in their Cup Preliminary Round 1st Leg, and after dominating their Level 4 opponents for long periods and taking a 50th minute lead through Francisco Pelissier, they conceded an equaliser two minutes from time for a 1-1 draw.

Teda won the 1 leg cup match 5:2 at home against a team 2 levels higher than us, but quality wise we are equal.
I think I might need to change my main formation to narrow diamond this season as I can smell that my wingers are not in good form; will keep them but might sell one of them in the coming couple of days.

What have you learned from last season?
The game still has too many flaws in it.
Where did you place last season?
Won the league and the Champions League for the third year in a row. Quarters in the Cup I think (Or it may have been the round before that)
What's your current level?
Now bossing level 34.
What's your budget for this season?
Having done a lot of power training and bringing lots of players in my budget is as follows -
13.9B cash. 4,956 Tokens. 241 Red 2026 Blue 1245 Green.
Who do you want to replace?
No one now, all my business has been completed today.
Ten new players have come in, whilst the rest have been power trained along with them.
My team as a result looks like this -
What are your goals for this season?
League and Champions League double. I would like to have a run in the cup, but I doubt I will be in it for long as I have teams 3/4 levels above me, so even after all my power training and investment I still feel its not achievable.

I noticed I could be a bit light in the ML position so I've just used a load of Greens to give Gamboa a triple role of ML/MC/MR.
I wouldn't mind picking up a back up keeper "just in case" but won't be power training him if I do, as I doubt it will be worth it.
