Palace teams report, Wednesday...
After Black Tuesday, comes Go(a)lden Wednesday. Clean sweep of wins for all three teams today.
Palace Terriers started off with their away Cup 1st Leg match, and despite having right-winger Julien van der Plas dismissed for a foul in the 35th minute, they opened the scoring through defender Taulant Doda just before half-time, and then scored three times in the second-half, Doda netting a penalty six minutes after the break, and left-winger Ingo Schmitt the other two in the final ten minutes, for a 4-0 win.
Palace Casuals then tried their luck at home in the League, and they completed a win which went a long way to easing the cruel shock of the last-minute defeat yesterday. The visitors had the edge in the first-half, scoring from a free-kick to lead at half-time. Artem Garaev and a brace from Liam Cashman between the 51st and 59th minutes turned the match in Casuals' favour, and defender Ben De Wree completed the 4-1 rout late on with a direct free-kick of his own. Left-back Mirco Kaminski made his 50th appearance for Casuals in this match.
Palace Terriers took their turn in the League next, and they had a comfortable 6-0 away win. Julien van der Plas, Ingo Schmitt and Luis Fernando Peralta put Terriers 3-0 up with only 8 minutes on the clock, Eko Sinegal chipping in with a fourth goal just before the break. Schmitt and Peralta completed the scoring in the first quarter-hour of the second half.
The late afternoon and evening action was provided by Desert Rats FC, who took the advantage in their Cup 1st Leg match with a 2-1 home win, Markus Hammes and Petr Wojtczak the scorers. At home in the League, Francisco Pelissier, Mohd S Abdul Karim and Alex Woolley scored in a 3-1 home win.
