My goal for this season is to NOT buy any players (except for any incoming youth player that's worth it), and finish in the highest possible position in all three competitions.

Don't sign the the youth player that costs tokens. As, for the 'free' youth player, sign him. You can keep it as a backup if you are very short on tokens and cash (so much that you cannot afford a better player from the auction market). Else, sell him and buy a better player from the auction market.

It is usually better to buy players from the auction market. It is all about the timing. Don't go into bidding wars. Bid in times where there is much less activity.

Don't feed the already greedy company.
