I managed to buy 3 19y/o and 1 18y/o today, all 5* 92-98%+. Ran out of money though How good is that?

Where do you find 18y/os anyway? The whole day I found only one (3*) on the transfer market. Do you prefer buying a 18y/o 3* than 19y/o 5*?

No way.
To get 18 y/o 4-5* you have to check the market when the server resets (~2:30 GMT in my case).
