Do tactics still matter ?

A lot has obviously changed as regards tactics with the new fluid formation settings. We need to unlearn all that we know and delete the table of counter formations thread. However tactics still work we just have to figure them out.

At old times I was playing vs an oppo who was using 4D-ML-MC-MR-AMC-2ST.
I thought that 4-4-2 nd was a good counter.
During the game, one of his DCs got a red so it was my AMC +2ST vs one DC (who was 1* weaker).
But he managed to eliminate my attackers.
Oppo manager wasn't present.

Simply I think it was bad dice roll pre game rather than anything I did wrong.
