Its a question of perspective really. The older players remember what was and reject what is while newer players dont know what was so are happy with what is. An obvious conclusion, maybe correct or maybe not ,is that what was wasnt increasing the player base sufficiently (maybe even reducing ,who knows) so changes were/are being made to increase the player base. Increased player base means increased revenue but the cost is usually that the pure game suffers as it gets dumbed down to make it more available to more people. Not everyone has the time to play the game as it was but vastly more people have the time to play the game as it is now and sadly that may be the truth of it. I dont mind the game as it is now but there are some things that I would change back to what they were or improve to what they should or could be , nothing is perfect.
