I'm going to play an away game vs. (13.2) with my (15.1) team.
My opponent is using a tactic i haven't seen before and which is not listed here.

    3W-1-3W-2-1

    ------ST------
    --AMC--AMC--
    ML---MC---MR
    -----DMC----
    DL---DC---DR

I though about playing the following.

    3N-1-2-2-2
    offensive + mixed

    ----ST---ST----
    -AML------AMR-
    ----MC---MC----
    ------DMC------
    ---DC-DC-DC---

Do you think this is a good tactic to face my opponent? If not, give me suggestions how to improve my tactic please.

    Thanks in advance!
I played against it twice and used 3W-2N-3N-1-1, won both times

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately this formation would force me to play either with two of my best players(18 and 21) off-position or two players that are quite worse (11 and 11).
In addition, i think i should switch from off+mixed to off+focus middle, when i use 3W-2N-3N-1-1, is this correct?

Playing against 3W-1-4-1-1 tomorrow, I'll use 4-5-1 V-Style as suggested and this is my strongest formation.

What I'd like to know is, why is 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow Diamond best vs 3N-1-4-1-1 and 4-5-1 V-Style best vs 3W-1-4-1-1?

Shouldn't it be the other way round? So you'd have 2 wide AM vs a narrow defence (3N) and a narrow AM and 2 ST vs a wide defence (3W).

Yes, play down the middle for that formation. Also, if that player is one square off his normal position then it should be fine

Thanks a lot, it worked. After 0-1 in 5´ Minute, I changed Mentality to Very Offensive and won 2-1.

It's good that you won, but next time I'd stay at normal if you take the lead and have good possession. I'd only change to attacking if you went behind, and don't use extreme attacking/defending as they aren't very good tactics. You might have won by more than 2-1.

I beat 3W-2N(MC)-3W(AM)-2 by using 4-1-4-1 with short passing, attack down both flanks, no counter, no offside, normal tacking, normal mentality. My team was stronger, but I was away and opponent was watching the game, so a tough match on paper - Result was 5-2 to me.

So 4-4-2 classic beats 4-2N(MC)-3W(AM)-1 and 4-1-4-1 beats 3W-2N(MC)-3W(AM)-2. Both using same orders (as mentioned above).

This thread doesn't cover asymmetrical formations.

Butterfly 3N-2W-2N-2W-1 will give any assymetrical formation a run for its money. Play defensive & counter.
    No regrets
