this is not totally correct. if you get promoted, your players will add 1 more year, but they also lose 1 star. so in some cases, the loss of 1 star more than offsets the extra year, training speed...

i think the more tokens you need to pay, the more high value the 4 star player is. so far, the max i see is 24 tokens. so probably, these are expensive for their quality, and are fast trainers.

i think as you go higher in level, the bidding becomes more competitive. also some of the tricks i used in lower levels no longer works as i go higher in level.
