    I think that there is a possibility that it is more like those choice books, where you get to a point in the game where you have to choose which path to go and if you choose path A, you go to page 14, and if you choose path B, you go to page 16 and it goes from there.

    But then again, I find it hard to believe that I can win so many games with everyone in a crap formation with my worst players playing hard defensive and mixed on easy. I got promoted 3 years in a row, the most recent seasons, when trying to tank - 5th place, 5th place and then the dreaded 8th place. Very frustrating. Finally managed to tank this season. will have to tank next season as well just to catch up.

    So, what we have here so far. There are countless posts in the forum saying
    Why I lost that game (or couldn’t won)
    -I have better quality players * as I said, 1-2* and some times more, specially in higher levels cannot guarantee the victory
    -My formation is proper (or opponents form. wasn’t correct) * this just gives a bonus but not guarantee either
    -I watch the game, oppo wasn’t there * the same (and want to add here, ok, you were watching but did you make the right coaching ?)
    -I had also supporters, ball possession and more shots * that also gives a bonus but not guarantee
    -I always give bonus while oppo team is like abandoned * bonus maybe can give a +1,2,3 or 4% but not guarantee

    I want to say here that the manager/team who’s playing with those conditions, in a long term he‘ll have successful career and titles.

    But sometimes it’s about other things : the form of the players, maybe a bad chemistry of the team, good/bad day of some key players, right/wrong subs, excellent performance of oppo specialists (free-kick, corners), wrong decisions in orders (switch to attack/hard attack, hard tackling, wrong arrows, man-to-man) and of course the most important, bad roll dice of the game.

    Nationality of a player has anything to do with his performance !
    Well, that's only a myth.
    Even if we rename our player as Messi or Ronaldo, it will be the same player, the same programming.

    Does it matter to anything ?
    Use the left foot players from the left side of free-kicks or corners ?
    Use the right foot MCs or STs in the right side of the center or in attack ?
    Are either foot players specials ?

    I 'm saying no to all of them (for some, as free-kick specialists I have examples).
    It's just a cosmetic of the game. It's only the talent of the player (the good programming) or the form that matters.
    but what are you saying ?

    Height of the player has some effect
    meaning that a tall defender or GK or ST playing better
    or generally short players have some disadvantage in the game.
    Well, that's another MYTH.
    The game just takes some numbers from a data bank and giving to players, depending from their position.
    GK are usually over 1.90 (and you can have tall guys, good or bad performers either).
    Def. some more over 1.80
    MC - wingers, have a variety of heights but that doesn't affect their performance.
    STs are also tall guys.
    A short winger can be a successful header as a tall one. That's more depending from the form of the player or a good corner-specialist.

    Distrubution of skill points matter? As in does a striker need more attacking skill points and will it improve his effectiveness? This could be tested with 2 teams. 1 team that applies skill points to their strengths (defensive players with defensive skill points, str with attack, etc...) and one team with equal distribution of skill points.

    I am myself a player that uses defensive stats for defenders and attacking stats for attackers. I have been very succesfull over 18 seasons. But it doesn't prove a thing yet. Somebody else has an equally distributed team and lots of succes? That has to be a normal team without scouts.

    Honestly, I think we may distribute skill point randomly and the effect would be the same. But it is also more sexy to play realisticly by adding attack pts to strikers and defensive one to defenders. But I rekkon the result will be the same if you do the other way round (which I do with good success too).

    I would be interested to understand how much the ball possession might affect the match result in case of opponent of the same level...I mean I have lost matches with more that 70% of ball possesions (due a big amount of friend and manager on the bench) against opponent of my level...

    I think it is right that the attendance of friends should not affect highly the match result...but indeed it is not correct to reflect the friend attendance in a bonus in ball possesion...maybe it could be better to affect (even with an hidden parameter) the average team morale

    well, let's talk first about the skills. Individuals skill of a player is just for the simulation of the game.
    In Attack for example, the skills are Passing, Dribbling, Crossing, Shooting, Finishing.
    But every manager of the game had a player with great success as a corner specialist, who had crossing skill less than dribbling
    or had a successful free-kick specialist with Finishing/Shooting skill less than crossing.
    A +-1 sp cannot give something special in a player.
    Also, if it had some logic, we can see that scout list players who have those special abilities, they don't have those relative skills higher than the others.
    In general, TE it's a simple program or else we could sign individually the sp to player and personalize him (as roll playing games).
    Meaning give him 10 sp to crossing, make him a super corner specialist but a bad shooter or dribbler.
    Of course then, it would be a different game, like the FIFA Manager pc edition (and I don't want that).
