Do special abilities work in the "wrong" position?

Would you guys hold off your fast trainer at 44.9 raiting by assigning him a (useless, I agree) new position to train?

extra positions are many times more useful than sa, special if you want to keep a small roster and do rotation.
But everything depending from how wealthy is the team.
