Results of the 'Super-Subs' Challenge for the teams...
One for the 'what the hell is the Match Engine doing' saga. Desert Rats playing away to abandoned bottom of the table team. Earlier in the season at home, playing ND vs opponents' 3N-2DMW-3N-2 formation, barely managed a 3-0 win, where other top teams had been getting 6 or 7.
Today, away, playing against same formation, Rats were playing ND again, and usually I would have set normal/counter/mixed pass/thru' middle, but for some reason didn't check orders before the match. After the match, discovered that orders were defensive/counter/long pass/use flanks...
Now to the big match of the day, Desert Rats were in a Cup Final after missing out last season, and were up against a +2%Q side that had succumbed to the Rats over two legs in the Champions League Round of 16. Eros Martorelli was the hero with two goals in normal time, which ended 2-2. The Management then checked to see if the opposing manager had made all his substitutions (he had) and then changed from ND to 3N-5-2-V, replacing the DR with an AML and moving the AMC to AMR. The aforementioned AML, Stefan Vucomanovic, then buried a free-kick late into the first half of extra time to win the Final for Desert Rats. Thanks to all who supported (present or not).
