Desert Rats FC summary, Day 5

A sizeable Quality advantage over their Champions League opponents at home today gave the Management the opportunity to give Patrick Tillmanns a last match in which to try for 250 goals. This he did with style, taking the match ball home, Bruno Monge and Damian Zerbo scoring the other two goals in a 5-1 win.

Zerbo got another goal in the evening League match, the Rats winning 3-0 to keep ahead at the top of the fledgling League table. Striker Eros Martorelli got the first goal, and Tillmanns' replacement at right-wing, Power-trained ex-Youth graduate Jack Mace got the last.



With a young protege and a new support player in place, and the next Nordeus competition giving prominence to younger players, the prospects for further appearances for the veteran right-winger are now limited, and the Management have decided that, having gotten all the landmark stats in place, that Patrick Tillmanns is no longer part of their plans. So after a long and successful career at Desert Rats FC, we say goodbye to a good and faithful servant...

Home Guard FC summary, Day 5

As part of a general upgrade to the attacking midfield force, and in the absence of any other requirements elsewhere, the Management felt entitled to invest some of the accumulated Tokens in a Quality player from the Scout list, rather than the standard issue seen in the normal Transfer Market. So, meet the new tri-role, Attacking Midfielder for Home Guard...



The new recruit was immediately thrown into the fray of a Champions League match, and took only 7 minutes to register a goal. Later on in the second half, he also proved handy from 12-yards as his brace made the difference in a 2-0 win.

Barbosa dos Santos was also first on the scoresheet in the evening away League match, left-wingback Marlon Kelly and central midfielder Emilio Lopez adding the others as Home Guard maintained their 100% record with a 3-1 win.

Desert Rats FC summary, Day 6

Offered a striker upgrade today, the Desert Rats Management opted for Divine intervention...




Long-serving striker Charlie Howell was released after this latest signing.

Desert Rats progressed to the Round of 16 of the Cup with a comprehensive 7-0 demolition of their Round of 32 opponents, to record a 9-0 aggregate win. Midfielder Eric Yeste celebrated his taking over of the Captaincy of the side with a rare goal. In the evening match, the Management was delayed and could only log on just after half-time, just in time to see the home sides' third goal go in. So a bit of tactical reorganisation kicked the scoring machine back into gear, but time ran out before they could get a winner...

Home Guard FC summary, Day 6

Two tight wins today, the first in the League, where striker Daniel Robinson and left-winger Krasimir Dimitrov got the goals that defeated the 2nd place team. This evening their Cup opponents put up a bit more fight than they did in the away Leg, central midfielder Emilio Lopez and striker Alex Hill giving Home Guard a 2-1 win, and qualification for the Round of 16 7-2 on aggregate.
