Is it possible to have a very strong team without spending real money?

ive never spent a penny on t11, 9 league titles, 6 cl's 4 cups 2 super cups 2 trebles in all that. im level 17. my association is gold division 1 so get tokens off that. usually i wont buy many players for 2 seasons ( maybe just 1-2 max) then get to 200 plus tokens and buy scout and sponsor recommendations plus decent auctioned 18 yr olds.
ive never finished outside top 2.
i train my players hard, bonuses always 10%, watch videos for greens, maxed training level 91 out 2 seasons ago.
mnk's method sounds ok but not my cup of tea. being in a league full of **** teams sounds boring, you could not log in for a week, train players etc and you'd still win all your games.
i like it as i go to higher levels as there are more good teams, more league champions, cup winners, teams of pedigree, dont tend to have run away winners anymore and the top 6-8 sides can all get results against each other. more exciting league.

mnk excited about a treble against teams 60% lower quality than him

but i guess if you count outwit managers of similar quality teams then u find hacks.

i like football though when i play it i dont want to play teams we just smash. its boring pretty quickly,

What ever formation you decide to play, you should always start with normal, mixed, zonal, yes counter, yes ofside trap, low presure (start with low, if you are losing then second half play hard). During the games you shall see how it goes and change tactics as you think it should go better. It's not posible to make tactic that is good against every opponent, even if they play same formations you don't know what tactics they use.
