Hey, need some help with a guy i played 3x and did never win.
He plays 4-1-1-2w-2 and very defensive. Played different styles so far (also here mentioned 3n-3w-2-2). Results: 0:0, 0:1, 0:2 , also i was between 5% and 10% better team with almost 60% ball pos. and more shots. Please, need a idea for a setup and how to pkay (off/def/middle/wide) thxx so far
Have you tried 4-1-4-1?
Controlling the middle (with 4 MC/L/R against his one MC) means he won't be able to attack effectively, and without posession he won't be able to counter-attack either.
Therefore, set your counters off, mentality to Normal, passes to Mixed and if % of completed passes is ~85 or less, go for Short. Tackling to Normal. Also, you will probably need High pressing. The rest is up to you.
Oh yeah, in the second half you can also use Man-to-man if you feel like you need defensive boost, but your guys will be exhausted at the end of the game. High pressing and Man-to-man together increase the condition loss by 60-70%, I think.
This is just a theory, and I can't say it definitely will work, I've never tried it against such an opponent. You need to analyze all your previous games, it's hard to give you any advise without knowing exactly what happen -- what were the formations and statistics, what you did and how it changed the games.
Please, tell me the result. And good luck!

It wasn't our day.
the problem with butterfly are the dml and dmr when the opponent uses aml and amr (with red arrow)
this way you need to set them back on dl and dr position (with red arrow)
so you have a 5 men defensive line
this is my experience (using butterfly)
Hi, against a 4-3N-2AMC-1 in the table there are different formations; in your experience which is the best? All formations have 2 DMC...is it necessary against 2 AMC?
What do you think about the butterfly 3-2-2-2-1?
Thanks
Hi all.
I'm going to play a very important game against oppo playing 4-1-3w-1-1.
Has Anyone any experience playing against this formation?
Any advice would be appreciated.
How to beat overpowered 4-4-2
As the leader of my league (110%) i had to play an away match vs the second place (91%) using his bull**** 4-4-2 (lost 0:2 at home to him)
As i was the better team, i decided to use 4-4-2 as well, starting defensive, long balls through the middle and counters on. Then i activated 12% ofensive bonus.
Game started, first shot - oponent scored 1:0, second shot 2:0, third shot hit the goal post, 4th was saved by my goalie. All within the first 30 minutes.
So i changed in minute 40 to a 3n-4-1-2, still long balls through the middle, counter off, but now playing ofensive tactic with 12% defense bonus avtivated.
Between min 50 and 75 i scored 4 times and at the end won by 5:2.
Hope that helps other who are also pissed by this 4-4-2
