    well, it's about the same.
I 'm talking from my personal experience.
04.00 it's 06.00 local time (for Greece) so as I wake up at 6.15 - 06.30 for work, I take a look at tm.
In 03.00 GMT, there is a nordgen who's auction is ending after 2-2.30 hours and I find the same nordgen who's auction is finishing after 1-1.30 hour.

If the reset time on your server is the same, it should be approx. 4:35.

True, I'm adding one more point (for new version)
Sometimes (when I'm in short token) I don't do first bid to hold the player as it is long wait like 2 +/- hrs; I just click "add favourites" which is on the top upper left corner of the player picture and its hold the player even if I logout or refreshing the browser. Even one time I was bidding a ST, after 2/3 round I let the guy win (step back) and I forgot to clear favourite button, player still showed in nego. market until I clear.

If i find 5 star nordgens ind the end og the season i dont buy them. Is that stupid? They are just gonna lose a star when i promote and then i have to use more time on them?

    ^^^

That is what most played well tell you, not worth it.

However, at least in my case, the nordgen players are uncommon, only a few each season. I also have excess cash, so a 20% value drop is insignificant. Personally, I've been willing to take a player late season if he's got the right position and skill balance.

Losing a star is not the biggest problem -- aging is. That's why I never buy players in the second half of the season.

    yes, both is the problem.
of course as I said few posts above, there are other things to decide too.
If you have a good stock of greens or if if are at lv40 or above where the nordgens are rare, yea, why not.
Also if you find a DC-DR with "aerial" or an AM with "sudden striker" also yes.
That saves you from some 50 greens
