Palace teams report, Thursday...
Palace Casuals played first today, away at 4th in the table, and for long periods had the upper hand. Striker Konstantin Kirchev nodded in a Mario Dinamarca corner in the 7th minute and the visitors looked for the rest of the half to build on the advantage. When the home side scored two goals in three minutes just before the hour to take the lead, the Casuals still surged forward in search of parity, but succumbed to a counter-attack two minutes from time to kill off any remaining hopes, losing in the end 1-3.
The Management arrived late to the Desert Rats lunchtime away match, and found them playing totally the wrong formation and tactics against the 6th placed team, and in the 51st minute were losing 1-2, despite having taken a 9th minute lead through left-winger Chris Passmore. Two substitutions and a change of tactics later, and the Rats were trying to make up for lost time. Striker Albert O'Toole latched onto a goalkeeper clearance and lashed the ball back past the helpless custodian in the 79th minute, and with four minutes to go, defender Mateusz Slaby finished off an O'Toole surge through the centre of the home defence for the winning goal, final score 3-2 to the Rats.
Palace Terriers were at home against the 3rd placed team and played out a 0-0 draw. Their advantage at the top of the table has consequently been reduced to one point.
