Players without contract DO count as Top 14, yes.. you can't use this^^ sry for the late response

I don't think so because that your saying meaning, very early in the morning of Sunday you have a full team (of 22 players) plus 3-4 unsigned players, right ?
So at 04.00 am, the program counts the 14 best players you already have and making the draw of the Cup. It doesn't matter after that if you buy or sell your players.
Another thing is that if you buy those 5* players this season (and having them unsigned), next season they will be 4* so this will give you a disadvantage to confront your higher level (and quality) opponents.
The key to this method is to have 14 low quality players (or a mixed team with 7* and 1-2*) as can be, till Sunday 03.00 and after that to enforce your team with nordgens or scouters or * q4/q9 veterans.

and what about ur coming league? coz u aint see ur league until day3... same calculate on first day or it calculates on day3 dawn?

Remember, don't renew contracts till next season, because you can have a better Cup if, the game add retired players of low Q. due to the no renovation of expired contracts. Then you have 7 days to renew these.
I have 3 retired players +9 contracts that are pending to renew... 12 of the 22... so I will have 4 old players added that will help me to decrease Q. LOL

but I believe that Beckstar is right. In this second, when the server resets, it's counts the non contract players as active players and does the calculation for the Cup. Then it examines the contracts and gives you extra 3* veterans to complete a 14 players squad.

league has nothing to do with this. We 're talking about the Cup because there are teams from different levels.In League there are only from your level. Usually it's a mix of quality plus some friends of yours from the same level. The draw it's happening on day 3.

edit: btw i can argue of "mix" definition... sometimes (ok all the time ) i peek at another bidders league and i laughing hard about his/her competition...

So, after I won the CH.L. cup and the last game of the league, I started selling my players (earning a lot of money ).




season 11, I also kept 2 academy players 0t, 2 stars, so after selling, Sunday morning, my team was like that


and the Cup draw brought this opponent

After that of course, I started buying new players, early in morning, also expensive nordgen.
So my team now is like this


with good chances for the Cup, still some difficult opponents for the CH.L. and waiting for the league opponents.
and many hopes

Here we have a situation without a clear answer.
As I have those low q players, I decided to try last time for the treble.
This is my team now



After selling few players and trying or thinking to sell some more, I see that I have some players whose contract is ending this season.
So, the (unanswered) question is
Do those players are counting for the Cup draw or not
If they count, I 'll have 11-12 players, lv 6* and only 2-3 low q players to drop it.
If the don't count, then I 'll have 6-7 high q players and another 6 low q. The game, anyhow, will give me a couple of free players (3*, over 30 y.o.) to have a complete team to play the game. In other case, I 'll play in a high q Cup.

And this is a similar situation with my alt. team


4 players with contract, 7 high q players without contract and the rest, low q players.
Let's see if we 'll find out something ...
